In times like these, when there’s an increasing shift to the right in our society, it’s important for us as the Kandie Gang to make a statement against hate, right-wing agitation, and exclusion.

We believe, and know, the bicycle can be used as a vehicle for change. 🚲 💫

In the 1890s, the advent of the bicycle brought with it fashion freedom and transportation independence for women. This new technology could be seen on the roads in millions and started a movement.

Let me tell you what I think of bicycling. I think it has done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world. It gives women a feeling of freedom and self-reliance. I stand and rejoice every time I see a woman ride by on a wheel — the picture of free, untrammeled womanhood.

It’s with this in mind, the bicycle as a vehicle for change, that we are hosting the Human Rides Social Ride.

The ride itself is a family friendly consisted of a 14km of flat and easy route starting in St. Pauli, going by the Alster and ending-up back in St. Pauli.

We’ve registered it with the local authorities making it even more accessible and safe for everyone. This way, we can leisurely cycle through Hamburg on Sunday for tolerance and diversity
